I never had the chance to tell you that I wish you all the best in life. Although our parting was all but gentle, in the midst of the tumultuous waters I realized that all I really wanted was to be loved as much as I loved you, and I did love you too much. I did love you more than I loved myself. If that was too much to ask then I do wish you find that person out there that is waiting for you. There will always be a part of you with me, and I will be haunted by the future memory of our possible success in life together, our shed full of guinea pigs, having three children in spite of our careers, growing old in a country house in the north of France, etc. But it was nonetheless, time well spent.
After all, love is nothing but an invitation; a kiss blown into the rain, a seasick fanfare on a sinking boat. You wouldn't believe it if you weren't there.

Maybe in another life.
